Hats For Homeless

There, but for the Grace of God, go I.

Thank you, Everyone,

So much from so many - we are a great country. This site will end soon. I can't afford to maintain it any longer. You've all been so helpful with this project. I will keep making hats with yarn you've sent. If you send hats or gloves or scarves, I'll continue to get them to the homeless shelter. I don't know how long this will be here, but I just had to say how much you've all touched my heart. Thank you and God bless you.

You can Help the Homeless keep a little Warmer through the Cold Winter months by Donating Yarn to be made into nice Warm Hats. Or Sending Hats that you've made. Or Gloves, or Scarves.  Please, don't send money. I'm afraid I would use it to buy donuts.

"The major reasons and causes for homelessness...

as documented by many reports and studies include:

Lack of affordable housing
Substance abuse and lack of needed services
Mental illness and lack of needed services Domestic violence
Poverty, caused by many factors
Prison release and re-entry into society
Lack of affordable healthcare
Natural disaster

Homelessness is the condition and societal category of people who lack housing and food, usually because they cannot afford, or are otherwise unable to maintain, regular, safe, and adequate shelter. The term "homelessness" may also include people whose primary nighttime residence is in a homeless shelter, in an institution that provides a temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized, or in a public or private place not designed for use as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings."                    - from wikipedia.org

I crochet hats for homeless people.  during the past 4 years with your help well over 500 hats plus scarves and gloves have been given to the homeless.  Donations of yarn, hats, scarves and gloves are most welcome and will be passed on to those who need them.

Guest Page is Gone

It is sad, but too many spammers were using my guest page for their business. The last one was somehow able to make it where I couldn't delete their comments. So I just removed it.

You all can still contact me through e-mail and the PO Box on the "Contact Me" page.

 Thanks for understanding.
